OMG, i love this book! i felt the film was a bit of let down not, enough focus is on the duck killing boy eg Marcus. I also dont like Rachel weizzzneas, whatever her name is in it either.

No i agree..although i do like to drool over Hugh Grant! I feel that the main focus is taken away from Marcus and the film is basically a 2 hour Hugh Grant fest! Would definatly recommend those who enjoy the film to read the book as it's 10 times better (which sadly is the case with most film adaptations!)

I've seen the film a couple of times... when it was on Telly at Christmas, but I never really enjoyed it that much, other than the fact that Hugh Grant is in it. I was really dreading reading the book, thinking it would lack plot and substance just like the film. I LOVE the book, it's definitely a book I'll read again and again (and the only other books I own like that are "just like Floss" - a picture book - and LOTR of course). It's yet another example of Hollywood taking a good book, looking at the cover, smoking some pot and then writing a vaguely related and boring film!

If the world is flat what is on the other side?
